Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Logistics Specialist/Expert to oversee and optimize international supply chain operations, ensuring smooth logistics, customs compliance, and efficient coordination between China, Russia, and other regions. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in international logistics, customs procedures, and supply chain management, with fluency in English and Russian.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Supply Chain Management
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor international and domestic shipments.
- Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
Customs & Compliance
- Ensure all shipments comply with international and local customs regulations.
- Prepare and process necessary customs documentation, ensuring smooth clearance.
- Monitor changes in import/export laws and regulations in China, Russia, and other relevant markets.
Supplier & Vendor Coordination
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers in China and Russia.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to optimize costs and service quality.
- Coordinate with internal teams (procurement, finance, sales) to align logistics with business needs.
Risk & Cost Management
- Identify and mitigate logistics risks, such as delays, supply chain disruptions, and compliance issues.
- Analyze logistics costs, propose cost-saving initiatives, and improve operational efficiency.
Data & Reporting
- Track shipments, delivery times, and logistics performance.
- Generate reports on key logistics metrics and suggest improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, and customs documents.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in international logistics, customs clearance, or supply chain management.
- Proven experience in handling shipments between China, Russia, and other CIS countries.
- Fluent in English and Russian (both written and spoken).
- Strong knowledge of customs clearance processes, import/export regulations, and logistics documentation.
- Candidates with less experience may also be considered for a non-senior specialist role.
- Strong knowledge of customs clearance processes, import/export regulations, logistics documentation, HS Code, and INCOTERMS.
- Excellent in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of ERP and CTRM is an advantage.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills for vendor and supplier management.
- Ability to analyze data and optimize supply chain processes.
- High level of attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
- Willingness to travel as needed for supplier meetings and logistics oversight.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
