Senior Full-stack Developer (PHP + Svelte / React)

We have 30 years of expertise in designing and building custom software systems. We provide software development services focusing on complex high-load applications, AI and BI solutions, and mobile apps.

Our client is a company in Luxembourg specializing in a knowledge assessment system with expertise in various areas, including academia (universities and schools).

We are looking for a senior full-stack developer (PHP + Svelte / React) who will join the development team of 40 engineers, including 10 senior back-end developers. As a team player you will be responsible for the implementation of all required developments and customisations of our platform.

Responsibilities:

• Design standalone systems of moderate complexity, or major new features in existing systems.
• Test new code thoroughly, both locally and once deployed on QA environment.
• Refactor existing code to make it more testable and matching design patterns best practices.
• Implement systems that enable better testing.
• Give thoughtful code reviews as a domain expert.
• Advise deployment patterns matching the application needs.
• Participate in SCRUM ceremonies
• Estimate software changes requests complexity.
• Determine data needs from product requirements.
• Design major new features and demonstrate while showing a nuanced understanding of browser constraints.
• Implement designs considering browser/mobile compatibility, semantics, accessibility and user experience.
• Assess correctness and utility of existing code and avoid blind copy-pasting.
• Increase the robustness and reliability of codebases, and devote time to polishing products and systems.

• Excellent knowledge of PHP current version.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong experience in one or multiple frameworks (Symfony, Slim, Laravel, …).
• Knowledge of AWS/GCP is a plus.
• Good knowledge of VCS (Git).
• Understands basic Agile concepts.
• Able to identify and understands basic cloud patterns.
• Takes security by design into account for new systems.
• Able to debug and profile their code efficiently.
• Masters the software development best practices and clean code principles.
• Anticipates and shares schedule deviations in plenty of time.
• Demonstrates concepts proactively with prototypes.
• Wordpress knowledge is a plus.
