MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE:

Ensure maximizing the owner profits and management fees of all managed hotels within the region and be directly accountable for the success of each hotel’s finance management system and optimization strategies.

Control and consolidate each hotel’s effort on finance management, assisting, providing guidance.

Ensure monthly preparation, review and management company analysis of all hotels/business units, which are managed by the company

Lead and inspire robust finance management practices within managed hotels in order to continuously achieve pre-set financial goals and owner approved budgets.

Seek-out and capitalize on finance management opportunities in all other areas of the business. To be mindful and up-to-date on all cross-industry advances in this field.

To consolidate, share and implement best practices in the following fields: financial reporting; financial risk assessment; process automatization; contingency planning; budgeting

Serve as the field expert in Finance Management for all managed hotels

Participate in company business development projects by providing expert reports and assessing the financial potential for owner investments for all company potential partnerships

Lead the yearly budgeting / business plan processes for all company managed properties, provide critique and represent the hotels to ensure owner’s approval

Provide training and knowledge sharing to all managed hotel accounting teams to ensure their professional development

DUTIES:

Give direction and oversee finance strategy for each company managed hotel

Report to Director of Company

Act as knowledge expert and a highly informed communicator for the finance terms of managed properties on both internal and external financial management issues

Identify, assess, communicate and if needed implement industry innovations in the area of finance

Visit managed hotels on regular base, to get first-hand knowledge of all finance management issues

Conduct regular financial risks assessment audits for all managed properties to ensure the least possible gaps#

Organize and manage the finance teams, processes, trainings, methods and tools in financial management, purchasing and IT for all managed hotels

Support GMs of all managed hotels in communicating, distributing and applying the agreed financial strategies

Serve as the representative in the area with all managed hotels and coordinate the owner driven projects, such as cash flow management, insurance management etc.

Regularly check, consolidate and approve accounting reports / documents (tax reports etc.) in order to ensure that all managed properties comply with local accounting regulations and optimize tax performance

Provide analysis and financial calculations on various expenses if requested by direct supervisor

Lead and provide support with cluster consolidation initiatives in the area of responsibility for all managed hotels.

Insure execution of approved financial strategies for managed properties across the markets.

Implement, advice and assist managed hotel teams with monthly P&L review, providing high-end critiques and recommendations.

Analyze finance-related information, identify current and potential problems and propose solutions for all managed properties across the markets.

Collect, systemize and analyze Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Reports from managed hotels.

Prepare Weekly consolidated performance reports for owners.

Assist hotel GMs and DOSMs in analyzing events/trends that may impact a Hotel’s/Region’s financial performance.

Assist in developing, training, and providing guidance to Finance Controllers of all managed hotels.

Attend company sponsored Finance Management related training programs and events.

Ensure that related Reporting and Budgeting Tools in all managed hotels are working to full capacity.

Ensure that accounting personnel in all managed hotels is fully competent to use all systems.

Ensure the finance management systems (e.g. MC, 1C, SUN) for all managed hotels is configured and validated.

Create and implement if necessary changes/recommendations provided by the Marriott and IHG Global Franchise Support Teams.

Supervise development of 6 – month, 12 – month and 2-year strategic business plans and consolidate the efforts of all regional experts in this sphere.

Generate and submit reports and presentations within the area of responsibilities in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines.

Maintain the region’s Finance Management informational database.

Prepare for and conduct the region’s monthly Finance Teams Conference Calls.

Attend the region’s Group Meetings;

Participate in company conference calls.

Advice and assist managed hotel teams in designing and communicating tactics to optimize profits.

Comply and ensure execution of any reasonable requests made by the Director and President of the Company.

Conduct research that assess the finance management practices and key drivers of the Hotels’ primary competitors to ensure that opportunities to enhance the Hotels’ profits are not overlooked.

Control and assist in finance management set up of new managed properties.

Provide input on new hotel development pipeline by creating the realistic and thought-through business models.


Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of leadership role in hospitality finance field
Fluent English (management of hotels in Europe);
Work experience as a Finance Director in hotel international chains, preferably in the head office - must have!
Excellent finance knowledge;
Energetic, strategic, good leader, proactive approach; experience working with remote teams (the majority of the hotels are located in Europe).
