We’re extending our team that supports a California law firm. This is a Junior+ role for a very motivated person who wants to learn fast, work closely with decision-makers, and grow into a strong, independent data/business analyst. You don’t have to know everything yet - but you must love learning and communicate clearly in English.

Role (What you’ll do)

  • Support stakeholder discovery: join meetings with partners and business owners, help capture requirements, and translate them into KPIs (utilization, realization, collections, matter cycle time, client/matter profitability).

  • Help assess the data landscape: list current data sources (billing, CRM, Google Sheets), identify gaps and inconsistencies, and assist in defining sources of truth.

  • Contribute to the data foundation: work with senior team members and software engineers on our AWS + BigQuery setup; help maintain semantic models and simple data contracts.

  • Build useful reports & dashboards: create and update dashboards in Looker Studio and structured workflows in Google Sheets; summarize findings in short, clear comments for the business.

  • Document for the future: help document key business terms, metrics definitions, and joins so future AI/ML and natural-language-to-SQL tools can work safely and accurately.

What you bring

  • Some real-world experience (Junior+ level) as a data or business analyst, preferably in services, finance, or operations (legal is a plus but not required).

  • Solid SQL fundamentals and basic data modeling; experience with BigQuery or another cloud data warehouse is a plus (and you’re eager to learn BigQuery).

  • Practical BI skills: experience building dashboards in any modern BI tool (Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

  • Comfort with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs) and an interest in learning AWS; basic scripting in Python or .NET is a plus, not a must.

  • Clear communication in English (C1) and a strong sense of responsibility, including respect for confidentiality and willingness to learn legal/finance norms (matters, trust accounting, etc.).

Why join us

  • Guided growth: work side-by-side with senior people, get direct exposure to executives, and gradually increase your ownership and complexity of tasks.

  • Modern stack: AWS + BigQuery + Looker Studio, heavy Google Sheets collaboration, and a roadmap toward AI agents.

  • Healthy environment: supportive team, competitive pay, PTO, and fully remote with overlap in Pacific Time.

If you’re early in your analytics career but already comfortable with SQL/BI tools and excited to learn the business side of legal operations, we’d love to talk.
