What makes the role special
The complexity of modern cybersecurity platforms requires not only cutting-edge technology but also precise, user-oriented documentation.
The Group-IB XDR Team is looking for a Technical Writer to develop and maintain documentation for our flagship detection and response products — XDR, BEP, NDR, EDR, and MDP.
You will play a key role in transforming highly technical product logic, architecture, and operational workflows into clear, consistent, and practical documentation for analysts, administrators, and engineers.
Working as part of the XDR development team, you will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, QA Engineers, and Implementation Specialists to ensure that every product feature is accurately represented and easily understood.
Your work will directly influence how customers learn, deploy, and interact with Group-IB products in their real security operations.
Tasks to solve

- Document new features and updates across XDR, BEP, NDR, EDR, and MDP components.
- Gather and structure information from developers, QA, product managers, and support engineers.
- Proofread and edit materials prepared by other contributors to ensure technical accuracy and clarity.
- Create and maintain visual assets such as deployment diagrams, data flowcharts, and configuration schemes.
- Participate in UX content design to improve clarity and consistency of interface texts.
- Maintain documentation repositories (Git) and track version changes across multiple product branches.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation tools and workflows (Confluence, Git, Appcues, AI-based tools).
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal English (C1 level or higher).
- Working proficiency in Russian is required, as internal communication, part of the product backlog, and some source materials are maintained in Russian.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and structured documentation.
- Experience with Markdown and Git version control.
- Analytical mindset and ability to work with complex system architectures.
- Understanding of software development processes, API-driven architectures, and cybersecurity principles.
- Familiarity with UI/UX fundamentals and modern interface design.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-team interaction.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
Additional requirements
- Portfolio with publicly available examples of technical documentation or user guides.
- Experience documenting cybersecurity, network, or infrastructure products.
- Proficiency with graphic tools (Figma, [http://Draw.io|http://Draw.io|smart-link] , Miro) for creating technical diagrams.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong sense of responsibility for content accuracy.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack, Appcues, and AI-powered writing tools.
