AP Accountant (Accounts Payable)

We are seeking an Accountant with a finance or accounting background. In this position, you will collaborate with the global shared service Accounts Payable accounting team and participate in month-end closure and other accounting tasks.

This position offers remote setup with the flexibility to work from any location in Kazakhstan, whether it's your home or well-equipped offices in Astana, Almaty or Karaganda.

Responsibilities

• Check the correctness of accounting attributes for expenditure supporting documents

• Make bank payments to EPAM counterparties, including domestic and foreign wire payments, batch and individual transfers

• Perform US GAAP bookkeeping for Company expenditures by type, as well as US GAAP bookkeeping for respective AP and bank payments

• Complete monthly accounting close of specified accounts in SAP according to established procedures

• Communicate with local statutory accountants regarding bookkeeping issues when necessary

• Provide explanations and supporting documentation to the Senior or Lead Accountant for all in-scope companies when required

• Respond to audit requests and attend regular meetings with external and internal auditors

• Participate in regular improvement process activities with the IT development team, analyze areas for improvement, and test new enhancements

Requirements

• Finance or accounting background

• 1+ years of accounting experience

• Familiarity with MS Office, especially Excel

• English level B2 or higher, both written and spoken

• Attention to detail

• High personal responsibility

• Ability to work within agreed rules and procedures

• Readiness for ongoing self-development

• English proficiency at B2 level or higher

• Readiness to shifted working hours 12 PM – 9 PM (UTC+6) / 11 AM – 8 PM (UTC+5)

Nice to have

• ACCA/DipIFR certification

• Knowledge of SAP
