Job Purpose

The HSSE Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) activities at the plant site. The role aims to ensure safe operations, prevent incidents, and maintain compliance with company standards and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor HSSE performance at the plant and ensure compliance with HSSE policies and procedures

  • Conduct daily HSSE inspections and safety tours across the site

  • Prepare daily and monthly HSSE reports and highlight incidents or potential risks

  • Support implementation of the Permit to Work (PTW) system to ensure safe work practices

  • Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective and preventive actions

  • Assist in organizing and conducting HSSE training for employees and contractors

  • Support HSSE awareness campaigns and promote strong safety culture at the site

  • Assist in planning and conducting emergency drills and mock exercises

  • Maintain positive relationships with regulators, contractors, and emergency services

  • Monitor PPE inventory and support procurement to ensure adequate stock availability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field

  • HSSE certification (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, IEMA or equivalent) preferred

  • 3–5 years of HSSE experience in Utilities, Energy, or Industrial sector

  • Experience in PV, BESS, or renewable energy projects is an advantage

  • Strong knowledge of local and international HSSE standards

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively with different stakeholders and teams

  • Good English communication skills
