Virtual Infrastructure Automation Engineer

Project Overview

The Continuous Delivery department is seeking an Engineer to modernize our virtual machine environment. You will participate in a project of refactoring the current infrastructure using Ansible and Foreman to build a scalable Self-Service portal. This role is designed for long-term growth: once the VM automation is complete, you will transition into broader DevOps and SRE tasks. This includes managing CI/CD pipelines, scaling Docker/Kubernetes environments, and developing internal automation services to enhance our global delivery processes.

• Support and evolve a virtual machine infrastructure, covering the full VM lifecycle (provisioning, configuration, scaling, and decommissioning)

• Develop and maintain self-service VM provisioning and lifecycle workflows using Foreman

• Automate operating system installation and configuration

• Design and maintain Ansible automation for system configuration and software deployment

• Develop and support automated installation of proprietary applications

• Operate and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in production environments

• Work with networking components in virtualized environments (DNS, DHCP, proxies, VLANs)

• Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents, ensuring system stability and reliability

• Maintain technical documentation and participate in infrastructure improvements

• Strong troubleshooting skills and production mindset

• Hands-on experience with virtual machines and infrastructure lifecycle management

• Experience with Foreman

  • for provisioning and host lifecycle management

  • integrating Foreman with external systems (APIs, CMDB, service catalogs)

• Experience with Ansible

• Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python

• Working knowledge of Linux systems (installation, upgrades, troubleshooting)

• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)

• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code and automation principles
• Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Excellent English, both written and spoken

Would Be a Plus

• Experience administering VMware vSphere

• Familiarity with Puppet or other configuration management tools

• Experience building end-to-end provisioning pipelines

• Experience working in enterprise environments and change management processes

• Experience with monitoring and alerting systems (e.g. Prometheus, Zabbix)
