Senior DevOps Engineer (GCP / Kubernetes)
Location: 100% Remote
Contract: 1 year (extension possible)
Team: Russian-speaking dev team + English-speaking US partners

Maxiru is a boutique, fully remote IT company delivering high-end technology
solutions for the US cruise industry. We are looking for a Senior DevOps
Engineer to join our agile team. In this role, you will manage and evolve cloud
and on-premise infrastructure for our clients, ensuring smooth deployment
lifecycles and system reliability.
What You’ll Do
- Infrastructure Management: Design, maintain, and troubleshoot hybrid infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) — including GKE, Compute Engine, Load Balancers, and Cloud Functions — and on-premise environments (bare metal Kubernetes clusters, VMs, etc).
- CI/CD Automation: Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Bitbucket Pipelines to streamline delivery for both frontend and backend applications.
- Infrastructure as Code: Lead provisioning automation with Terraform and configuration management with Ansible.
- Observability & Security: Implement security best practices and maintain system health monitoring using the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
- Collaboration: Work closely with a multi-lingual development and business team: Russian, English.
What You Bring
- Cloud: Deep expertise in GCP (GKE, Networking, IAM, Storage).
- Containers: Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Automation: Proficiency in Bash or Python for scripting and automation tasks.
- IaC: Solid experience with Terraform (Ansible is a plus).
- Version Control: Strong command of Git and Git Flow.
- Languages: Fluent Russian and at least Upper-Intermediate English.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kafka or Keycloak.
- Knowledge of Nginx tuning and optimization.
Terms
- Duration: 1-year contract (with high potential for long-term extension).
- Schedule: Full-time, 100% remote. You should be available for team syncs between 5 am - 12 pm EST.
